Civique 2026 is an independent educational prep tool (not an official French government service and not affiliated with any authority).
1) Who we are (data controller)
The data controller is the publisher of the app “Civique 2026” (independent developer).

2) Data we process
Depending on how you use the app, we may process:
- Account & identification (e.g. Firebase technical identifier; Google email if you link your account).
- Learning & usage data (quiz results, answers, scores, progress by topic, history, learning stats).
- “AI Coach” chat (messages you send and AI-generated replies).
- Subscriptions (technical subscription status information; we do not receive your card details).
- Technical logs (errors, diagnostics, security events; network info such as IP at request time).
Please avoid sharing sensitive data in the chat.
3) Why we process data
We process data to:
- Provide core app features (account, sync, progress).
- Provide the AI Coach feature (generate answers based on your messages).
- Manage subscriptions and premium access (status verification, abuse prevention).
- Ensure security and maintain the service.
- Provide user support.
We do not sell personal data.
4) Sharing (processors)
We share data only when needed for the service, for example with:
- Google / Firebase (authentication and account management).
- Google Sign-In (if you choose to link your account).
- Google Gemini API (to generate AI Coach replies from messages sent).
- Apple (payments and subscriptions via the App Store).
- Hosting / infrastructure providers (backend and database hosting).
5) International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. When this happens, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards according to providers’ terms and applicable law.
6) Retention
We keep data only as long as necessary:
- Account & progress: while your account exists, or until deletion request.
- AI Coach chat: as needed for continuity and support, or until deletion request.
- Technical logs: generally short periods for security/diagnostics.
- Support emails: as needed to handle the request, then limited archiving.
7) Security
We apply reasonable security measures (e.g. HTTPS in production, access controls, monitoring). No method is 100% secure.
8) Your rights
Depending on your situation, you may have rights such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability.

You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (in France: CNIL — www.cnil.fr).
9) Children
The app is not intended for children under 13.
10) Changes
We may update this policy. “Last updated” reflects the latest version.
11) Language note
This page is provided for convenience. If there is any conflict, the French version prevails.
